Services we Provide

Overview

We provide a range of housing and support to women who have either acute or long term mental health needs.

We support women who are homeless, or have a history of sleeping rough or whose housing is at risk because of their mental health issues. We specialise in working with women who have complex needs and women who self harm.

We provide a flexible service that is tailored to each woman’s support needs, and builds on their individual strengths to help them to manage their mental health and secure long-term viable housing options. We offer a range of temporary and permanent housing choices.

What we do

Shared Housing

We offer shared housing to women aged 16 and over.

We provide a range of practical and emotional support, including a dedicated self harm worker, a counselling service and support during evenings and weekends.

During their stay women will have:

  • a flexible support plan,
  • access to a 24 hour emergency call service,
  • help with finding things to do in the day
  • finding voluntary work
  • help with learning new skills
  • help with accessing training courses.

The housing is temporary, and advice and support will be given to help access permanent housing.

Resettlement and Tenancy Support Service

This scheme works with women aged 16 and over. We work with a range of housing associations, local authority housing and private tenancies.

We offer a self contained flat with flexible support for up to 2 years. For women who are already in accommodation but it is at risk of breaking down we offer tenancy support for up to 2 years.

The support includes help with:

  • managing money and living on their own,
  • help with moving and settling into a new community
  • help with managing their mental health needs,
  • finding voluntary work or training courses
  • help to find activities during the day.

There is a high level of support in the beginning which is gradually reduced as the women feel better able to manage.

Pre-resettlement Service

This service works with homeless women with mental health needs who have lost their tenancy because of a severe mental health need or are in hospital and are unable to return to their previous accommodation.

They may be sleeping rough, living in Bed and Breakfast, in temporary and or unsuitable housing, or in between tenancies.

The service aims to find suitable housing with specialist support and make referrals to other mental health agencies.

The pre-resettlement service will maintain close links with acute mental health services including admission wards and community mental health teams
