Second Step provides supported housing for 39 people with complex needs including homelessness, drug and alcohol misuse, reoffending and mental health problems. The 39 flats are spread over three sites in Bristol: Toll House Court, Wayland Court and Homefield Court.
The flats are offered to tenants for a maximum stay of four months or 120 days – with a view to moving people on to longer stay accommodation at the end of this period.
We work with other specialist professionals to create psychologically- informed environments which the tenants are encouraged to create themselves.
Toll House Court
Toll House Court is situated on the edge of Bedminster. The building provides 20 self-contained flats with a secure front entrance and reception with CCTV cameras throughout the public areas. Two of the flats are adapted for people using wheelchairs.

Wayland Court
Situated in Fishponds, Wayland Court consists of 11 self-contained flats. The site is the Skills and Learning Centre for the service offering numerous groups and activities in the communal areas of the building. These groups include building life skills, good neighbour workshops and we are currently developing a bicycle maintenance course run in conjunction with the police.
Homefield Court
Located three miles from the city centre, Homefield Court provide a further eight flats to people who are a little further along their recovery journey and less in need of high level support.
